The underpinning of all this stupidity can be boiled down to two factors: First, a failure to appreciate the dynamics of complex adaptive systems (not that anyone understands them really well). Second, and an offshoot of the first, the absurdity of dedication to economic growth in the GDP sense, implying burgeoning consumption and therefore a parasitic Homo sapiens. Mineral resources such as rare-earth elements for electronics need to be sourced from somewhere. We’re already headed for a three-planet requirement to support such growth (https://medium.com/@vinlopresti/three-planets-by-2100-rate-of-economic-growth-is-unsustainable-f9a7f5415209)

Presumably therefore, in addition to these cylinders, Mr. Bezos foresees invading other planets to repeat our earth experience of raping them for their minerals. That this man is so ridiculously rich is ample evidence of the fact that genuine perceptive and sociologically constructive intelligence is not a prerequisite for success as a Capitalist. Anyone for whom greed is the main driving force behind action should be exiled to a space cylinder prison complex.
